Flying to America

Our amazing friends, Jeremy & Tamara, helped us so much in our final days in Uganda - packing, moving things to storage, watching our kids... Just their presence was a help to us as they gave insight and encouragement during much decision-making. We love and miss them so much.
Hen and Harry, the tall British couple in the middle, are another set of amazing friends we left behind in Jinja. They have such generous and selfless hearts. They are constantly giving of themselves to others. We are blessed to know them! Here are the final good bye's before we left for the airport.

Saying good bye's...

Leaving Jinja was bittersweet. We could hardly wait to be reunited with our families, but at the same time it was difficult to be leaving behind beloved friends who have become like family these past few years. This is my dear friend, Tracy, who is like a sister to me. She gave birth to this precious little girl in June, and fittingly named her Princess.

More neighbors...
Baby Kisaki
Rhoda and 2 of her dear friends in Jinja - Lori & Danielle. They have really been there for Rhoda through some difficult times. Their friendship is a sweet gift.

Elijah's 5!

Two days before flying to America, Elijah celebrated his birthday with 3 other little buddies whose birthdays were also in July. Here are the boys - Elijah, Eli, Zane & Adam. Our good friend, Danielle, made an amazing train cake for them. It was a special day!

Chris is getting married!

Chris, Nate's Ugandan brother, finally found the right woman. We are so happy for him and Sarah. We pray that God will pour out His blessing on their marriage and give them the strength and perseverance to remain faithful to each other and to Christ.

Waiting...

Waiting for the groom to drive him to the brides' home...
Waiting for the meal to be served at the brides' home...
Mothers and aunts waiting for the bride to take her to the church for the ceremony...

Here she comes!

Sarah finally emerged from the house, giggling and blushing, followed by her train of bridesmaids.
