Our home

"Thank you Dinner"

A few nights ago we had a group of friends over to thank them for all their help this week with moving in and setting up our home. We closed the evening with a time of prayer - they surrounded Nate and me, laid hands on us, and commissioned us into this new season in Uganda, committing to walk it with us and praying for God's power to be manifested in our lives and ministry. We thank God for such an amazing group of friends.

Hannah and Kisaki

The kids and I went out this morning to visit our neighbors at our old place, which is about an 8-minute walk from our new home. We were disappointed to find out that 2 of the families whom we were close to had "shifted" (moved). We did find one of the families that we knew well, and it was wonderful to catch up with them. This is Nora with her daughter, Kisaki. We enjoyed visiting with her Mom, brother and sister as well.

Nate catching up with his good friend, Chris, who is one of the men who took over teaching the Bible classes while we were in the U.S.

This shows part of our backyard. The white building is the "boys' quarters" (extra building with two guest rooms), and the garden is surrounding it. We're looking forward to planting once the dry season is over.

Jet lag hasn't kept Hannah from getting up in time for breakfast yet! This is the dining room in our new home.
Jude, on the other hand, has had to be pulled out of bed several mornings in a row.

Jet lag

Our first night back was pretty short. We flew in at about 10:30pm, arrived at a guest house at midnight, and got the kids to sleep by 2am. We had to drag them out of bed at 7:30am so that we could get some breakfast before making the 3-hour trek to Jinja, our home.

Ready to fly back to Uganda!
