I think Hannah was impressed by Jude's balancing trick.
Jude and Hannah had a bonding day together as Elijah was in the village with Dad.

"Enough pictures, Mom!"

An afternoon with friends

Godfrey and Loiy and their children came to visit and share a meal with us last Sunday. Rachel is the one holding Jeremiah, Tracy is next to her, and Trevor is on the ground crying. We had such a sweet time with their family. The kids became fast friends.
Hannah enjoys mothering any child smaller than her.
A rousing game of soccer
Loiy and I communicated mainly through smiles and gestures. Most people in Jinja speak English fluently, but many people living outside of town do not speak it well, if at all. I speak only the very basic greetings and phrases of her primary language, Lusoga.

Trevor is wondering how his face can get on the camera...

Our early risers

It is a rare day when our entire household is not up by 7am.

Ojunga

For those of you who remember when we posted about this little guy a month or so ago, we wanted to give you an update. He is doing great! Thanks for your prayers. He is receiving treatment, and he has steadily been putting on weight. It appears that he has recovered from TB as well.

We keep chickens. Originally we thought we'd try having a few layers around for fresh eggs. Well, Nate found a new hobby and now we have 19 running around our yard. The free-range eggs are great. I love feeding them to our family, knowing that they are far more nutritious than the eggs with the pale yolks available at the market. But I don't love the mess and smell they make. Whenever I start grumbling, Nate lovingly reminds me, "This is part of the kids' education!" That is so true. The kids have become quite the little chicken farmers. Elijah is in charge of collecting the eggs each day, as well as bringing them our food scraps bucket. Both boys are in charge of chasing them out of our garden, as well as helping to keep our back steps free from their gifts. Hannah is in charge of giving them love.

Godfrey

Godfrey came to help us with our yard work several months ago. We have seen God draw Godfrey into a deeper walk with Him as he has shared his heart with us. Please pray for him and his family - wife, Loiy, and children, Rachel, Tracy and Trevor.

"Mom, look what I found!"

The boys found this "friendly" chameleon in our yard a few weeks ago. They were eager to make it into a pet, but the chameleon did not think that was a good idea. We had no idea that they could hiss and try to bite!

Final exam day for the Butagaya class

One more term to go until they finish the program
